Another exhibition

The painting club that I go to on Tuesday afternoons were part of another exhibition again this weekend .. Whilst I did my sitting with the exhibition over lunch time yesterday, the show didn't finish till gone four. After I left, two of my ACEOs sold .. not sure which ones .. but watch this space, I'll know on Tuesday afternoon!

Classes start again ....

Well chuffed with what we created in class today ..  it was so nice to be back!

 This is a lot looser than I work normally, but pleased with the results, a bit of wetting the paper first, a bit of thinking about tones, a bit of free brushing!  .... I do love seeing everyone else's interpretation of the same subject!

ACEOs

Well I've certainly enjoyed doing these little works of art know as ACEOs (An offshoot of artist trading cards are Art Cards, Editions and Originals (ACEOs), which originated when some artists began to create cards to sell, in addition to trading among themselves)...
I do like working small ... here's six all ready to be cut out, mounted and put on to my site!

Free from jail ......

Tee hee .. We're back from a short stay here ... The House of Correction!

It was great.... a weird, whacky, spooky, dark impressive kinda place!

The narrowest building we'd seen!

Through the front door ... two steps to the back door!!!!

It's owned by The Landmark Trust and is in Folkingham, Lincolnshire ...

Underneath the building, through the hidden trap door, are the four cells!  We went down there, with torches, but it was still scary .... and very cold!!!!

We had a fab view from our bedroom window ...

And a lovely one when sat in bed drinking our early, morning cuppa ... 

I feel a painting coming on!

Whilst there we visited Lincoln, which was busy, but we loved it ...

And when we went to Sleaford we found an even thinner building ... can you believe it ..

A teeny, tiny jewellery shop! Sooo cute!

We all had a super time .... and I'm looking forward to painting some of our findings!

Yeah! Finished ..

Finally I've finished St Ives Bridge ... This has taken a while and also I lost my way a bit towards the end but, I think, I've pulled it back ...

It's very hard, I think, to look at your own work without being very critical! So I'm unsure about this one!
I painted it to enter into the local flower show .. so, maybe, I should just bite the bullet and enter it anyway!

.. haven't had much time to paint at all ...
Firstly I've been trying to network my Facebook page! Now that's a job and a half I can tell you .. sitting, constantly looking at and commenting on other facebook pages ... I reckon, for every ten comments I made on people's pages, I got one back! That's a lot of work!!!  Still, having said that, I found some really creative, imaginative people out there with massives of talent! What a world!
Secondly .. it's far too hot to paint in the conservatory .. my paint dries before I put it to paper!!!
Thirdly ... Summer holidays, the Littlies are a great distraction! LOL!
And finally .. a new addition to our family!

Goodness me ..

... All this networking business is pretty time consuming ... I've got my Facebook page to 120 likes by networking till 23:33 last night and a bit today!! .. when will I get time to paint!  Tee hee!
Actually, it's too hot to do much painting.. it's 32 in my conservatory!!!  My paint's drying quicker than I can paint with it!!!!

Exhibition..

Ouh! I  had the first public showing of two of my paintings at the Summer carnival in Somersham today! I helped on the stand for an hour then sold raffle tickets for an hour all for Somersham Art Club .. while there I met some lovely people and overheard a couple of nice comments about my pics!

The whole carnival was very well supported, which was lovely .. Tuesday I will be able to hear more of what was said and how the exhibition was received!

31/05/13: Couldn't sleep so changed a few things at three this morning!!!

Now, the question is ... do I try and do a wash over the water area .. or just leave as is?!

Ready for the Somersham Carnival on June 22nd ... One of two paintings under the theme 'The Beach'
Going on display with The Somersham Art Club, a lovely art group I joined a few weeks ago ... My first ever!!!

This is where a friend's getting married at the end of the week ... so I wanted to get this done in time to give it to her tomorrow!

This was a painting that seemed a good idea at the time .. but that many windows in perspective is not that fun!! LOL! 
My verticals are a bit haywire too! I don't think architecture is my forte!!! But hey ho!
