~~** Like Mother like Daughter**~~

Ahh! I'm so happy today .. I bought some watercolour pencils for my two, they've wanted some for a while. Anyway my little pin
k one, who's nine, came home from school and wanted to sit down with me and do some painting. Well, she's off to a friends party this weekend so I suggested she make Emily the card while copying what I'm doing ... we had a great time and we're both well happy with the results .. Love it!

Happy 60th Mum

Here's a card I've created for a friend and neighbour. She wanted a card for her Mum who's going to be 60. She asked for flowers on the front, so I put together a little bunch, tied with some nice organza ribbon, painted a watercolour background to suit. Placed it on this funny see through film stuff, tore out some brown paper and stuck it on that. I added the flat backed pearly dots and edged the note tag with gold and brown. Hope she likes it.

Happy Summer!

Thank you everyone at school

Here are some cards done for my son's school... It's his last few days at middle school, my how time flies. So it's cards for all the staff, headmistress and the lovely ladies in the school kitchen, I love the rolling pin on that one. The chocolates look good enough to eat. The Lady from the school office loves choccies! I made the little blackboard with black card and some matches

. Happy summer! Here we come!

Thank you Teacher

This is one of two cards I'm doing for my Son's year six teachers. There's only a few weeks left before he finishes in the Junior school. Bless! Pretty pinky girly ... that covers it! I've just smudged out her name. Second one to follow.

Not a card ....

Well naughty me .. I've been so busy, but not doing cards! This is a pot I've painted for a local school summer fair .. it's for a game I used to do at the scouts fete years and years ago when I was small. I did one for our children's christmas fair at their school a couple of years ago and it was a big hit. It came out again at the spring fair and another parent asked if I could do one for her school ... so here it is ... all you have to do, and it's easier said than done, is spoon as many marbles as you can into the hole, one handed in a minute ... it's a real giggle.

****** Make a wish *******

I'm really pleased with this card. We all really like teeny weeny things in our house and I found this tiny little bottle. I filled it up with glitter and put in on torn mulberry paper. I then dotted the glitter around the card and used my tiny pink stars too. It's for my ex niece who's 11 today. My children are going with their Father and his wife to visit my ex in-laws this bank holiday weekend because, actually, there are three generations all born on the same day .. my ex father in law, his son and his granddaughter all born on may 22nd .. how clever is that!!!

Happy Bank Holiday Weekend!

Baby Hannah

Ahhhh! A close family friend has just had her first child, a baby girl called Hannah ... I know Suzie's still a bit wobbly after losing a lot of blood but she's getting there.. so lots of love to you, and your new family.
This Picture is on torn mulberry paper, mounted on cream card with little cherub's punched out. I placed foam squares at the top end and stuck the bottom onto the mulberry paper to give it a bit of a tilt. There's a bit of pink ribbon saying it's a girl top and tailed by pink/ crystal glitter, all finished off by a pink ribbon on the top.

Sunny flowers

Hello on this lovely sunny day ... here's a card I've just finished in time to take with us tonight when we go out with the In-laws. It's Hubby's Great Aunt's 90th Birthday and I was asked to make a card for her. It couldn't be too heavy as it's going to Canada and needs to travel well! I did the background design on Publisher then added the paper flowers after.

Christening Day

Wow! Is it really ten days since I last posted! My, how time does fly. I have been busy with the children, but now they are back to school so here I am having time to potter round!
This is a card I've made for a friend whose Nephew is getting christened this weekend. I usually have the stained glass window
and a little embellishment either male or female, but, sometimes I have a closed bible on the front.

Beautiful lady

This card has been made for a friend of mine using a silhouette of a lady from the Lakeland shop, (used to be Lakeland plastics a few years ago.) I mounted her onto the card, which had vellum in the aperture, then painted the head dress with Twinkles H2o (I think that's their name!). This gave a nice effect, I think. The banner at the bottom is from my Sissex machine. I hope everyone had a good Easter, here it flew by!

25 Years!

Well here, as promised, is the card I've done for my friends 25th wedding anniversary. I've cut out and embossed a 25, cut out and embossed a hole on the card, then carefully sewn the 25 into the hole. This takes a long time and is hard to get dead centre but I'm pleased with how it looks.

Happy Easter!

Bead fun

Haven't done cards like this for a while. I don't know why because I really do enjoy doing them, though they do take a long time! The reason I had my beads, needles and cotton out was because I'm doing a wedding anniversary card for my friend who's been married 25 years (see more later in the week). Am I old really enough to have friends who've been married that long? Yep! 'fraid so! Better start behaving ... Anyway I've had my embossing powder out, my square hole punch, my big box of beads and my patience!!!! I've done all the sewing and beading then added it to the card with foam squares to give it the height then I've added a danglie, as I do like them.. This card is for my friend's birthday next week.

Mad about sport?

This is one of two cards that I made for my Mum to give to my stepdad. It's designed on the computer using Microsoft publisher. I then printed off two and cut out the posters and pictures and mounted them on with foam squares to raise them a bit. It was a quick, simple one. I must say I do find men's ones harder to do!

Monday 30 March 2009

A jolly jolly card

This is a card I've done and our daughter's already taken it to give to her brother! Nice, bright, jolly colours and a few wobbly bits on it too .. what fun! Cards like this put a smile on my face.

Happy Days.

Watercolour water!

This is a scan of a little watercolour pic I painted. It's printed on textured card, torn out, slightly edged with a gold pen and mounted with sticky pads onto torn mulberry paper .. hmmh! I seem to be going through a torn paper phase! Note to self: Put new blade on scalpel!

Oh Smudge!

Meet Smudge .. this is the cat we haven't got! You see we don't own a cat, but Smudge seems to think we do .. she spends more time here than at her house three doors away. Now, I love her (or him, we don't know, she has way too much fur to find out!) but, she can be a pain when I want to type and she wants attention .. because she walks back and forth across my keyboard! I know my spelling is terrible sometimes and she doesn't help! Anyway as you can see she's settled for the office chair which is next to me, where she can look up and 'chat' to me when she feels like it! Now I can do some work!

Here's a card I liked till someone said it looked like a brain!!!!! Thanks!!!!!
I love all the bits hanging down and I've used some interesting background papers ... Firstly a purple chocolate box topper, then some flower wrapping then mulberry paper and then some memory foam ... a few sprinkles of beads, a nice handbag and here's the finished card .. the purple brain!
Ho hum!

Happy days!

It's a Girl!

A friend of mine wants a Baby Girl card so I've given her a couple of choices. This one had tiny little crochet clothes on it and a wooden button. I really like the tiny clothes edged in pink.

The next one has tiny brass embellishments on torn mulberry paper and torn handmade paper with dried petals in. This paper is so thick it feels like wallpaper and it really soaks up the glue! Still it looks good!

Tuesday 24 March 2009

Many embellishments...

Well this one has many brass embellishments on. I like this, though my Mum says it's too busy. There's little painted squares which the embellishments are sewn onto then that's mounted on some vellum. I like the way they swing.

Cherub in the wind

This card I like because the cherub swings about. Once again I've used a watercolour washed back ground, sewn on some mini beads and loose pearls and added a hanging drop at the bottom. I love the way this card looks and feels. I'm very happy with this one.

Monday 23 March 2009

Moonface

This one I really like. Using odds and ends, little beads, torn mulberry paper and a little gold embellishment I had. The background is a watercolour wash I did. A fab card all round.

Wow! A new adventure for me ...

Well, here I am sitting at my keyboard tippy tapping my first blog post (if that's the lingo?!)
I love designing cards ... I can't help it .. I get a real buzz from creating something fab on a white card blank.

I've been doing this ever since I made my wedding invitations 6 years (my goodness is it really that many years!) ago.
Since then I've created well over 1300 cards!
I'll post some pictures on here of my cards ... when I've worked out how to.
Till then .....

Happy days!
